At its newly opened center in Milan (January 2024), CIEE partners with Università del Sacro Cuore (Cattolica), a private Italian research university located in the heart of the city, to offer students of all majors the opportunity of taking classes with local professors at both Cattolica and CIEE's nearby academic center.

Upon their return to Holy Cross, students are highly encouraged to continue their language learning with the Italian Studies Department and/or enroll in upper-level electives (whether in English or Italian).
Preferred Majors: Accounting, CISS, Econ, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology; VAST/Museum Studies. All other majors welcome, pending program capacity
Program capacity: academic-year study has no caps on enrollment; semester-long study is capped at 5 students/semester
Note: Because we can only send 5 students, maximum, per semester regardless of applicant volume, we will make every effort to balance the fall and spring semesters, giving preference to a student's academic major (see above: "Preferred Majors"). In the event that we receive more applications than available openings or need to shift students from one semester to another, we will select participants with the highest GPAs in their respective majors during their preferred semester. It is advisable that interested students give serious consideration to their Alternate Program Choice when applying to CIEE Milan/Cattolica in order to maximize their opportunities for studying abroad.
