Summary: Surrounded by South Downs national park, University of Sussex might be the most naturally beautiful campus on offer for study abroad in the UK! It is also just a short 10-minute bus ride to Brighton city centre- a charming seaside town known for the famous Brighton Pier. Brighton’s seafront is the ideal place to soak up the sun in the summer, or take bracing walks to clear your head on winter days. Along the prom you’ll find cafés, bars and nightclubs, as well as beach and water sports. Also worth mentioning is the The Lanes: a maze of alleyways crammed with quirky boutiques, antique jewelry shops and tempting cafés, bars and restaurants. North Laine has one of the largest selections of independent shops on England’s South Coast, and is a perfect spot to grab a coffee and watch the world go by.
At University of Sussex, you are only an hour by train from London! Holy Cross students love to take advantage of all that is on offer both in Brighton and London. University of Sussex is a suitable study abroad location for most majors, and is particularly strong in Political Science. Holy Cross students have the unique opportunity to enroll in a full course load (60 credits), learning alongside English students and international students from all over the globe. This site is excellent for independent and adaptable students who want to take advantage of Sussex's unique geographic location!
